Our collection of photographs and memorabilia deposited with the Morrab Library in Penzance now contains almost 500 photographs and almost 150 items of memorabilia. The photographs have been scanned at high resolution and added to the Morrab Library Photographic Archive. Our collection can be viewed online at https://photoarchive.morrablibrary.org.uk/collections/show/15 The collection of memorabilia, such as old school magazines, individual report books, sports and athletics records and correspondence from members, contains over 300 documents. This collection has been catalogued and indexed and has been uploaded to the National Archive’s “Discovery” catalogue https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ On the Home page select “Search the catalogue” then in the “Explore the catalogue” dialogue box enter keywords “Penzance County School for Boys” between 1910 and 1980 held by “Other archives only”
The Old Penwithians Association Annual Reunion
The 2026 annual reunion will be held at The Queens Hotel, Penzance on Friday 27th February from 7pm. The event is open to all former pupils and staff of the former grammar school for boys in Penzance, and their partners. An invitation is extended to all former pupils of Penzance Girls Grammar School and their partners. There will be a display of photographs and memorabilia from the Old Penwithians Archive and a laptop computer will be available to browse the Old Penwithians photographic archive. There will be a raffle, the proceeds of which will offset the cost of producing and distributing the annual newsletter for members – if you could provide a raffle prize that would be appreciated but not essential. We have managed to secure the services of a pianist to lead us in the singing of the School Song – copies of the words will be provided for those who have forgotten them!!
